This course addresses scientific knowledge of pharmaceutical products accompanied by patent awareness, advanced analytical techniques, regulatory background and quality systems. It is designed to familiarize the student with latest trends in industry like design of experiments, quality by design and nanotechnology. This course is enriched with thorough knowledge of medical devices and understanding of pharmcoeconomics for cost effectiveness. Student will complete the course with advanced knowledge and skills applicable for pharmaceutical industry.
The course shall extend over two years, consisting of two semesters in the first year, followed by research work on industry related project and submission of dissertation in the second year.
*Inclusive of M.Pharm+MBA-Pharmaceutical Technology program
A student is expected to attend all classes. However, a student must put in 80% of total attendance for each subject, in the absence of which he/she will not be eligible to write the exam for that subject/ submit the dissertation as the case may be. A student is required to monitor his/ her own attendance and no separate notice will be displayed. Board Of Studies For Pharmaceutics & Quality Assurance
The Institute believes that self learning is the best means of learning, especially at the post graduate level, and accordingly, faculty should act as facilitators more than teachers. A great deal of emphasis is therefore placed on experimental learning. Students are required to work on a number of industrial and academic research projects during two years that they are on campus. In addition, teaching is heavily oriented towards case studies, presentations, quizzes, assignments, workshops and labs. A variety of seminars are organized by students and faculty members during the academic session. There is a strong belief that at the Institute in ‘learning by doing’ and in the dictum that a true pharmaceutical education goes beyond the classroom. The students are therefore exposed to technical depth of the subject and are also encouraged to participate in all professional activities.
