REPORT ON QUIZCALBUR 2018

The fourth season of sports trivia quiz ‘Quizcalibur 2018 - The ultimate sports quiz’ was organised by Excalibur, the sports committee of SPPSPTM, SVKM’s NMIMS, Mumbai on 1st August, 2018, which was also powered Live on Instagram.

This year the event witnessed an enthusiastic participation from all SVKM colleges in and around Vile Parle with a footfall of 95 teams consisting of 2 participants in each team. The first round of the event 'Chai Pakoda and MCQs' consisted of multiple choice questions on Sports. The qualifiers made it to the second round 'Crossword' followed by an 'Audio Visual' round. The participants in an air of silence, saw, heard and conquered their way to the final round 'Rapid fire', which determined the winners.

With stakes raised higher than ever, each team gave their best shot and the top three high scorers triumphed, owing to their intellect in the field of sports. At the first position, were Ms. Maitree Joshi and Pranay Shah followed by Mr. Naishil Mehta and Mr. Shubhankar Vartak in the second position and finally Mr. Varun Majumdar and Mr. Raghav Shah bagging the third position. The winners were felicitated with vouchers and cash prize of Rs. 5000/-, Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 2000/- for the first, second and third place, respectively. Kudos to the winners and all the participants who made this event a grand success. All the participants were given waffles as refreshments sponsored by London Bubbles and vouchers funded by other sponsors.

Quizcalibur 2018 was presented by Eisai Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., powered by Advent Chembio Pvt. Ltd. and supported by student partners Frapp. Due to their immense support, the organizers were able to achieve great success this year. The team is also grateful to Food Adda, Javed Habib, Chaayos, London Bubbles and The Bites for their unending support. Overall, Quizcalibur was observed as an event of intense quizzing, soaring adrenaline and loads of fun.
