ANNUAL CULTURAL FEST - URJJA 2018

Every year, IU has been the most anticipated fest of SPPSPTM and this year was nothing different. The hype this year was tenfold due to our fest celebrating 10 years of its existence. The theme for this year was ‘Isthmus-Urjja The Tenth Year’ and the excitement and thrill that ensued, was something never to be forgotten.

Registrations for Urjja began on time and we had large crowds of students and faculty alike, ever-ready to experience a splendid evening. The Isthmus-Urjja committee members made it a point to ensure that everything was running in a smooth manner. We commenced with the lighting of lamps followed by the band performance by our talented students.

This was proceeded by Encore- the event that gave our nightingales a platform to showcase their voices and the audience was engulfed by melodious tunes and rhythms.

Madmen was the next event that involved the humorous marketing skills of our students being displayed at large. The participation was overwhelming and the auditorium was flooded with laughter and mirth.

The next event was Glitterati- the fashion show, where we witnessed a wide range of colourful garments and accessories adorning our students as they ramp-walked on the stage.

There was a short break at 6:20 PM during which the audience was provided with snacks and refreshments after which they resumed to watch the show at 7 PM. The junk-jamming session was followed by Ridiculousness, where the students brought on a whole new perspective to existing film scenes and gave it a personal touch.

Finally, we had our last event for the evening titled Footloose where we witnessed maximum students’ participation as they strived to entrance the audience with their jaw-dropping dance moves.
