He has completed his Ph.D. in the subject of medicinal chemistry from the National institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, S.A.S Nagar (Mohali), Punjab India. During his tenure as a Ph.D. fellow in NIPER, Mohali, he worked on a project entitled "New method developments for the synthesis of biologically important N-heterocycles" which involves the development of new synthetic protocols for various bio-relevantN-heterocycles. As a medicinal chemist, he was also involved in the biological evaluation of synthesized compounds against tuberculosis and leishmaniasis. While pursuing Ph.D. he got interested to study the reaction mechanisms by applying computational chemistry techniques (density functional theory) (DFT). He is also exposed to various computational tools which are involved in the design of various synthetic analogues of a lead molecule.
