A highly motivated and trustworthy Assistant Professor imparting 13 years of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology knowledge while pursuing exclusive research opportunities. She is working as an Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at SPP-School of Pharmacy and Technology Management since year 2009. She is involved in teaching Pharm. Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Cell and Molecular Biology with major research interest in isolation and characterization of bioactive compounds from marine sponges. She has strong background in Fermentation and downstream processing of antibiotics (Penicillin/Erythromycin/ Vancomycin), lipstatin and beta soluble glucans. She has completed a prestigious grant by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India funded project "Isolation, Characterization and Evaluation of Anti-Inflammatory Compounds Isolated from Marine Sponges of Maharashtra Coastal Regions” as Principal Investigator. She is currently working on a SERB-DST funded CRG project entitled "Tumor Model and Mechanistic Studies of the AC2, AC7 and AC26 for the treatment of Glioblastoma” as PI. She has been recently awarded by DST SERB POWER grant of worth 30 lakhs. At the school level, she is serving as Incharge of several committees like Extracurricular, Bench marking and Microbial utilization committee, and has been associated with Discipline Committee, and Academics committee etc. in past. She has been Organizing Committee member for Conduction of various seminars, workshops and conferences at SPPSPTM, SVKM’s NMIMS, Mumbai.

  • Selected as Women Scientist for Level-2 and Level-1 workshop on Science Administration and Management held on January 08-09, 2018 and from September 18th- 21st, 2017 at IISER, Pune fully funded by British Council and Newton Bhabha Fund.
