11 years (Industry – 3 years, Academics – 8 years)

She has worked as Senior Executive, Process Engineering Lab (Alembic Ltd), Vadodara from August, 2006- June 2009 for the production and method development of Penicillin, 6-Amino Penicillanamic acid, Erythromycin and Lovastatin. Fermentation and downstream process optimization for Penicillin, Erythromycin recovery has been a prime assignment which was increased substantially using resin technology, the technology developed by the team.

She has been working on isolation and characterization of bioactive secondary metabolites from fungal/bacterial and marine invertebrates particularly marine sponges. Bioactive products from these sources have been taken up for evaluation of antimicrobial activity, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory activity in rat models and cytotoxity.
