13 years (Industry – 3 years, Academics-10 years)

She is working as an Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at SPP-School of Pharmacy and Technology Management since year 2009. She is involved in teaching Pharm. Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Cell and Molecular Biology with major research interest in isolation and characterization of bioactive compounds from marine sponges. She has strong background in Fermentation and downstream processing of antibiotics (Penicillin/Erythromycin/ Vancomycin), lipstatin and beta soluble glucans. Currently, she is Principal Investigator for a prestigious grant by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India funded project "ISOLATION, CHARACTERIZATION AND EVALUATION OF ANTI-INFLAMMATORY COMPOUNDS ISOLATED FROM MARINE SPONGES OF MAHARASHTRA COASTAL REGIONS” for a period of 3 years. Her education and previous research is directly relevant to her research, having theoretical and practical experience with advanced chromatographic techniques used in purification of biomolecules. At the school level, she has served as Incharge of several committees like Project placement Committee, Extracurricular committee, Microbial utilization committee, Academics committee etc. She has been Organizing Committee member for Conduction of various seminars, workshops and conferences at SPPSPTM, SVKM’s NMIMS, Mumbai.
