On the occasion of International Yoga Day, on 21st June, 2017, SVKM’s NMIMS SPPSPTM organized a workshop that highlighted the importance and necessity of performing yoga. The workshop began with the inauguration speech of Dr. Addepalli who addressed the audience about the benefits of Yoga to keep oneself healthy in the routine, stressful life. The workshop proceeded with the speech given by Dr. Anil Pethe that focused on the history as well as the current scenario of Yoga worldwide. Further, Dr. Anil Pethe demonstrated various asanas like Vajrasan, Shavasan, Naukasan, Dhanurasan etc. Students, teachers and the staff enthusiastically participated. Dr. Anil Pethe also taught certain breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom Pranayam and Kapalbhati Pranayam. The workshop ended with everyone chanting the Omkar mantra. The entire event shaped to be extremely fruitful.
