The journey of Pharmacy & Technology Management division of SVKM's NMIMS has been magnificent. It was established with aim of being recognized as principle CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE in Pharmacy and Technology Management education.
In this fast paced competitive world, conceptual knowledge, practical learning and the ability to innovate are the key focus areas of our school with an emphasis on quality above all else. The quality processes at the school have been highly appreciated by various regulatory bodies including the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). 6 of post graduate courses of Mumbai and Shirpur campus are accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
Our school has made significant inroads in the sphere of pharmaceutical education, research and development. This has been achieved by outstanding student participation in various activities ably supported by highly qualified and motivated faculty, a world-class infrastructure and virtual learning system available at the school , credit goes to our beloved Chancellor Shri Amrishbhai Patel and his team who made it possible.
At Pharmacy & Technology Management we believe that a teacher is person who touches a life forever, creating and moulding a person in a positive way. The school has highly experienced, qualified, motivated and committed faculty with varied backgrounds and experiences from all areas who bring with them a rich variety of experience and knowledge from the world of academia and industry. The faculty encourages the students to think and find their own creativity by promoting a wide range of ideas and the open expression of diverse opinions while maintaining an atmosphere of integrity, civility and respect.
Monitoring the academic progress by continuous evaluation is an integral part of the curriculum. Faculty plays a major role in monitoring, personal and professional counselling and moulding the career of the students. The school provides individual mentorship to the students at UG level. The experts also act as mentors to the students to mould them into future leaders. To give our students a strong foundation, we have introduced a foundation program for the new entrants to the UG/PG programmes for duration of 2 weeks at the beginning of the trimester.
The School has received various accolades over the years & this year has been no exception. "Best Institute in Pharmacy Education " by Golden Star Awards , " Best Pharmacy Institute " by World Education Congress Global Awards , B-School Awards for Best Placement Brochure , " Best Educational Institutes in Placements” by the Lokmat National Education Leadership Awards, are just some of the feathers in our cap.
Our outstanding faculty members have also been awarded various International travel grants by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 20th International Symposium on Microsomes and Drug oxidations (MDO 2014), DST Young Scientist Fast-Track Grant , by DST Govt. of India , and have also published chapters in various national and international journals.
Under guidance of our faculty, our students have excelled not just in academia but also in extracurricular activities that help mould them into all-rounders who have the ability to lead as much as work in a team. Some of our notable wins are awards for poster presentation at conferences like Chemfest 2013 ICT Mumbai , 46th Annual Conference of Indian Pharmacological Society at Bangalore , 65th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress-2013 at New Delhi, 6th International Symposium on Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) held at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Mohali .For the overall development of students Social Responsibility Forum of the School " Kshamta " organized various health awareness like Aarogya - The Health Fair”, Blood Donation Camp and free Thalassemia Check-up, Dental camp , Eye check up , Oral Hygiene Camp and related activities.
The Pharma Industry today, is knowledge intensive, undergoing rapid changes and is key outsourcing hub in Globalization. It is growing at a healthy double digit, already in top 3 in volumes & in top 10 in value terms in the world, and from current 30 billion US $ is slated to become 50 billion US $ by 2015 expanding in four areas viz. Contract Research, Bulk Drug exports, Formulation exports & Domestic Formulations. Apart from this, healthcare services like hospital, health insurance, organized retail are witnessing explosive growth.
