Key statement: Having worked for more than 15 years in the field of pharmaceutical research, Dr. Rahul Maheshwari has a particular interest in developing new drug delivery systems including Lab on a chip based nanosystems for the treatment of diseases such as cancer, arthritis, hypertension, and those caused by pathogens. One of the significant factors contributing to his success has been the continual publication of his laboratory work in journals of international repute. To date, he has authored >100 publications including research, review and book chapters involving the eminent scientists globally. Besides, he has >2900 citations to his credit with an h-index of 30. His passion for research has enabled him to rank among the top 2% of scientists in the world. He received a govt grants from various funding agencies over 75 Lakhs. Awarded with the ‘Certificate of excellence in reviewing’ by the ‘Iranian Research Organization for Science & Technology (IROST), Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran, Govt. of Iran for evaluating their Research Project they received under the prestigious Khwarizmi International Award (KIA). He completed his First Post doc (2019, funded by Govt of India) as National Postdoctoral fellow from National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research- Ahmedabad (NIPER-A; An Institute of National Importance, by GoI), wherein he worked on development of anti-cancer therapeutic development using the combination of drug and heat-based therapies. He completed his second Post doc (2022, funded by Govt of India) as SIER fellow from National University of Singapore (NUS, Singapore; ranked 8th in the world and 1st in Asia in the 2024 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings), wherein he specially worked on drug free (chemo-free) gene therapy for cancer.
