A Guest lecture was arranged by the Guest lecture Committee on 13th September 2019, Friday29th September, 2018for the students of B. Pharm. + MBA-IVth year and Research students.Speaker Dr. Chinmoy Patra.Dr Patra has delivered the lecture on the topic entitled "Use of zebrafish model in biomedical research”. He has pointed out the basic advantages of using zebrafish in the biomedical research. As per his opinion, zebra fish model is the easiest and least expensive model to screen a wide number of molecules for pharmacological activity. His presentation was inclusive of different application of zebra fish model in toxicity studies, regenerative medicine studies focusing on cardiac regeneration etc. High resolution real sample images of zebrafish organs taken by confocal microscopy were of real interest in his presentation. This guest lecture will help to grow interest among the students regarding the zebra fish model and its application. He also addressed the doubts and queries asked during the session. Closing words of gratitude was conveyed by Dr. G. L. Gupta.
