Summary on the lecture: Dr Dipak Thakur has presented an overview of biosimilar and the role of analysis in biosimilar development. He has started with easy understandable basics of biologics and correlated them with biosimilar development. As per his view, development of biosimilar product needs more involvement of academia in term of research. For instrumental facilities required for analysis and development of such product, academic-industry collaboration is essential. Dr Thakur suggested to go through the information on "Emerging Technology” on the US FDA website for updated knowledge. He also presented one beautiful animation describing the principle of LC MS/MS as it is an essential tool for biosimilar analysis. Overall, his presentation was interesting and definitely has added important values to the knowledge on biosimilar.
