The conference was a web based conference where in researchers from different parts of the world presented their work in the form of e- presentations. The theme of the conference was "Computational Chemistry in the Digital Age". The Virtual Conference on Computational Chemistry is organized by the Computational Chemistry Group of the University of Mauritius.
Dr. Kharkar presented his work entitled "In Search of Novel Anti-inflammatory Agents: Computational Repositioning of Approved Drugs”. Computational drug repositioning is a powerful tool for the experimental drug discovery and design. The results of the presented work may serve as starting points for the clinical repositioning or as lead structures in a drug discovery program. Computational repositioning is an area in which Dr Kharkar’s research group is currently working on.
Dr. Prashant Kharkar, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, SPP School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, Mumbai, bagged The Best e-Presentation award at the Virtual Conference on Computational Chemistry-2014 held from 1st to 31st August 2014.
