The Department of the LC-MS/MS Committee and Pharmaceutical Chemistry organized a two days’ workshop and hands on training on LC-MS/MS on 18th and 19th October 2019. The purpose of the workshop was to educate the research students, faculty and the industry participants the basics and the application of this instrument. Following speakers were invited for the workshop over the period of two days.

Dr Sudipta Mukharjee, Group Leader Analytical at o2h discovery Pvt Ltd (Application of LC-MS/MS in Impurity profiling)
In addition to these lectures in the morning sessions, hands on experiments were planned in the afternoon session. Dr Amisha Vora conducted the experimental section, Dr Ashish Kanhed conducted explanation on ChemDraw software for the interpretation of mass spectra. Mr Eknath Gadekar helped participants with understanding of Lab solution software and Ms Dhrumi and Mr Ravi (our M.pharm students) volunteered to provide necessary requirements to the participants for the experiments.
The participants of this workshop included M.Pharm research students from various institutes, PhD students and industry delegates (From Sitec Labs and Foundation for Neglected Disease Research).
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Mayur Yergeri, Section Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, giving a brief introduction about LC-MS/MS, its applications and its importance in Pharmaceutical industry. The workshop was introduced by the coordinator Dr Amisha Vora and successfully conducted with the whole hearted support of her colleagues Dr Ashish Kanhed.
At the end of the workshop, feedback was taken from all the participants. The hands on training was appreciated by each and every participant and mentioned they would be keen on attending on similar workshops again.
