Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPP-SPTM), SVKM’s NMIMS, Mumbai, was nominated as State Co-ordinator for the ‘National Elocution Competition-2013’ organised by the Education Division of Indian Pharmaceutical Association.
The preliminary round for the competition was conducted on 18th November 2013. The judges for the round were Dr Addepalli V (HOD,Department of Pharmacology, SPP-SPTM), Dr Vaishali Londhe (Associate Professor, SPP-SPTM) and Mrs Amisha Vora (Assistant Professor, SPP-SPTM). The topic for this round was ‘Healthcare Management: Challenges ahead’. Aman Dubey, M.Pharm ( First Year) was declared as the winner and was qualified to the state round.
The State Round was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Bala Prabhakar, Associate Dean, SPP-SPTM,Dr.Surendra Agarwal and Mrs Amisha Vora, Faculties, Extra Curricular Activities Committee at SPP- School of Pharmacy And Technology Management on 27 th Nov 2013. There were four contestants for the state round, Aman Dubey from SPP-SPTM, Mohsina Shaikh from Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy, Mr. Rakesh Patil from H.R.Patel institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research,Shirpur and Maneesh Ramanadham from School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, Shirpur.All the students were from M.Pharm courses. The topic for Elocution for this round was Pharmacist-Challenges in Drug Discovery and Development. Dr.Krishna Iyer, Associate professor at Bombay College of Pharmacy, Dr. Mayur yerigiri , Principal,BNCP and Dr. Deepali Kaduskar, Assistant Professor at SPP SPTM were the judges for the state Round. The Participants were judged on various parameters like content, presentation and time with the maximum time limit being 5 minutes. The judges were invited to share their views on the performance by students in the competition.
Mohsina Shaikh from Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy was declared as the winner of the 1st prize and was awarded with a certificate and Cash prize of Rs 500 and Maneesh R from School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, Shirpur was declared as the winner of the 2nd prize and was awarded a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 250.
