CONVOCATION 2014 OF PHARMACY & TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT DIVISION OF SVKM’S NMIMS

Convocation-2014 of Pharmacy and Technology Management division of SVKM’s NMIMS, was held on 2nd August 2014 in Mumbai. A total of 148 students (Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD) were awarded degrees in various disciplines. Meritorious students were felicitated with awards and certificates of appreciation. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. K. G. Ananthakrishnan, Managing Director, MSD, India as a Chief Guest and Shri Mahesh Zagade, Commissioner, Food and Drug Administration, Maharashtra State as a Guest of Honour.

The School also felicitated various faculty & staff members from Mumbai & Shirpur campus for their outstanding performance during the year 2013-14.

The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Rajan Saxena, presented a review of the University throwing light upon the major happenings of the year. He also appreciated the school for their Research contribution. This was followed by round up of School activities by Dean, Dr. R.S. Gaud. He highlighted the major events of the school and the various awards received during the year including the Best Pharmacy Institute 2014 at World Education Congress, Institute with Best Placements 2014 by Lokmat & many more. During their inspiring address they extended their best wishes to the graduating students.

In his convocation address, Mr. K. G. Ananthakrishnan congratulated the graduating students, encouraging them to be responsible citizens in the corporate world. During his speech, he advised the students to remain focused on 4 points kit for the transformation i.e. be innovative, continuous learning, Passion with compassion and most importantly; adherence to value and ethics.

While addressing the gathering, Shri Mahesh Zagade stated that the students are on the threshold of entering into the billion dollar pharmaceutical market, wherein they will face a multitude of choices. He shared with the student that the key to become successful leader lies in the essence of all round development, and in being ethical and responsible citizens of the society. He emphatically implied that the young graduates should seek transparency in action and should not accept lack of accountability. Finally, he also expounded on the significance of Gross Happiness Index in today’s time!

A large gathering comprising of the graduating students, their parents, guest from industry, Members of Board of management & SVKM trust, faculty & staff of the school attended the grand ceremony.
