Two day workshop was organized on April 10-11, 2015 by Shobhaben Paratpbhai Patel School of Pharmacy and Technology Management (SPPSPTM) in association with The Cytometry Society- India (TCS). Workshop was aimed to give an insight into the basic and clinical applications of flow cytometry and hands on training for two days by eminent faculty from the research institutes of national importance. The programme was inaugurated on April 10, 2015 in the presence of dignitaries, Dr. Sumeet Gujral, President, The Cytometry Society- India and Professor R.S. Gaud, Dean, SPPSPTM.
During Inauguration, Dr. Sumeet Gujral and Professor R.S. Gaud released CytoFLEX, a flagship model of flow cytometer of Beckman Coulter in India. Although, CytoFLEX,is available worldwide, this instrument was first time demonstrated in India and most importantly in this workshop at SPPSPTM.
Around 25 students and faculties from ACTREC, Haffkine’s Institute, Bombay College of Pharmacy, Principal K.M. Kundnani College of Pharmacy, Nirma University, School of Science, and SPPSPTM participated in the workshop.
The expert faculties from NCBS, Bangalore; ACTREC, TMH, Mumbai, PD Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai; Bio-Rad, Beckman Coulter, Sathgen Biotech Mumbai Flow Cytometry Solutions-India, Mumbai and NIRRH, Mumbai etc. conducted lectures, tutorials, and wet labs.

The workshop was organized by the Local Organising Committee under the leadership of Dr. Mukesh Nandave, Associate Professor, SPPSPTM and coordinated by Mrs. Rekha Gour, TCS-India.
