Leadership Companion Series – 2025 - Episode 3
Leadership Companion Series Ep-3, a workshop on "Building Sustained Brand Equity While Executing Rapid Product Launches”, was organised by Placement Committee, SPPSPTM on Sunday, 21st September 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in online mode via MS Teams. The session was conducted by Mr. Sagar Phapale and aimed to show how organisations can differentiate themselves, protect brand value and execute rapid launches without compromising consumer trust.
The programme began with a comparison of Nike and Apple, showing how each built strong brand equity in a different way, and then explained how positive and negative perceptions shape brand equity and why every launch must reinforce the brand’s promise, values and positioning.
The speaker highlighted the role of storytelling behind successful brands, citing Tesla as an example, and discussed strategies to prevent brand dilution, including building customer trust through coherent storytelling, aligning internal teams for swift yet consistent launches, and learning from Samsung’s overlapping launch strategy.
Participants were also shown how to stand out from "me too” brands through strategic pricing or superior value, such as patient support programmes.
The discussion covered balancing speed of execution with long-term brand health and avoiding fragmented messaging across launches.
The session was interactive and insightful, leaving participants with a clearer understanding of how rapid product launches can be executed strategically without diluting the essence of the brand.
