REPORT : THREE DAYS HANDS ON WORKSHOP ON BASICS AND APPLICATIONS OF LC-MS/MS

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, SVKM’s NMIMS organized three days’ workshop and hands on training on LC-MS/MS from 7^th to 9^th August, 2023. The purpose of the workshop was to educate the research students and faculty the basics and the application of the LC-MS/MS instrument. The morning half of the days were dedicated to talks by various experts in the field and the afternoon half to hands on training in sample preparation and operation on LC-MS/MS

Following speakers were invited for the workshop over the period of three days.

• Mr Subodh Chawan,  Director, Scientia Life Technologies LLP, Mumbai
• Dr Anita Ayre, Associate Professor, VES College of Pharmacy, Ms Soumya Niar, Deputy Lab Manager, Envirocare Pvt Ltd
• Dr Alice Varghese, Senior Pharmacokineticist, Fortera , Canada
• Ms Soumya Niar, Deputy Lab Manager, Envirocare Pvt Ltd

In addition to these lectures in the morning sessions, hands on experiments were planned in the afternoon session

The participants of this workshop were senior faculty, PhD and master students from reputed Pharmacy colleges and Science Colleges from all over Maharashtra

The workshop was inaugurated by Dean Dr Jagannath Sahoo, giving a brief introduction about the University, the School and the type of research the school and faculty are involved into. The workshop was introduced by the co-ordinator Dr Amisha Vora and successfully conducted with the whole-hearted support of LCMS technician Mr Eknath Gadekar and her PhD students Ms Ami Thakkar and Ms Pranali Yeram.

At the end of the workshop, feedback was taken from all the participants. The hands on training was appreciated by each and every participant of the workshop and mentioned they would be keen on attending on similar workshops again.
