On a rather cloudy and gloomy evening, there was excitement brewing on the 4th floor of SPPSPTM. Participants pooled together for an exciting event titled Beg, Borrow, Steal. The class started filling up with excited and eager faces.
The volunteers were being briefed with the rules and regulations of the event. Later, a short introduction about the event was announced and a volunteer was allotted to each team. A short story was handed out to each team which contained items hidden very skillfully within the story. The teams were given a total of 3 minutes to detect these items and memorize them before the story was taken back.
The participants were allotted 25 minutes to roam the streets of Vile Parle in search of the items in the story. As the countdown ended and the timers started, there was chaos that reigned the classroom. Swarms of people left the building in search of objects just like bees in search of their nectar. Participants were seen pleading and borrowing items like safety pins and paper bags and ping-pong balls. Quite a number of them also stole items like mops and buckets which led to the staff getting annoyed. This was truly a test of their memorizing skills and a race against time.
As the minutes drew closer, participants came rushing to assemble at the Pilot Plant. Volunteers were employed to check the items the teams had managed to collect. After the items had been cross-checked there was a sigh of relief as the teams went back to return the items and also apologize for the havoc that had been created.
On the whole, the event was a success. All the participants left with satisfied smiles on their faces. Even though the evening did slip back into its gloomy state, there was still a lingering feeling of excitement in the air.
