BLOOD DONATION AND THALASSEMIA MINOR TEST CAMP

Extracurricular Committee (Rx Committee members) of SPPSPTM SVKM’S NMIMS organized a Blood donation camp and Thalassemia Minor testing for students, staff and faculty of SPPSPTM, BNCP, School of law and Mithibai College in association with Think foundation at SPPSPTM SVKM’S NMIMS from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on December 7, 2016. The event witnessed a total of 98 successful donors after a thorough scrutiny for medical history, blood pressure, body weight and haemoglobin levels. About 142 people were screened for Thalassemia minor test. Few glimpses of the Camp are shown below:

The students of SVKM’s NMIMS Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy and Technology Management (SPP SPTM), Mumbai, had organized a blood donation camp and Thalassemia Minor testing for students, staff and faculty of SPPSPTM, BNCP, School of Law and Mithibai College in association with Think Foundation on 7th December,2016. The camp was conducted in college class room from 10 am to 6 pm. Technicians, nurses and doctor team from Sir JJ Mahanagar Blood Bank took care of all the activities. There was a registration desk where the donors filled in the form and were checked for optimum body weight required to donate blood. After registration, physician checked every individual’s blood pressure and haemoglobin levels. Ones the donor was found to be fit and met all the requirements only then they were allowed to donate blood. A total of 6 beds were arranged. Donors were provided with refreshments after donating blood. Donors also received a donor certificate. A total of 98 donors donated blood and blood of around 142 students, staff and faculty was collected and were screened for Thalassemia minor test and made this camp successful.
