The students of SPPSPTM SVKM’s NMIMS, Mumbai conducted a Child Cancer Awareness Campaign in collaboration with Rainbow Tigers and Social on the occasion of Child Cancer Awareness Week. The campaign was held on 4th December, 2016 at St. Borges Memorial Hospital, Bandra East. About 25-30 student volunteers interacted with the cancer patients to understand their problems and proposed plan of action to the management for the betterment of cancer patients. Patient interviews were recorded and were displayed in various college campuses like Mithibai college, NM College, UPG college and NMIMS to spread awareness. Special attention was given to children suffering and recovering from major cancers. After the interactive session with patients, volunteers distributed around 400 food packets consisting of fruits and biscuits. Free lunch was also provided to all the people residing there. The campaign was successful in achieving its motive "Unleash your potential for a healthier society”. Few glimpses of the campaing are shown below:
