Kshamta, the Social Responsibility Forum of SPPSPTM SVKM’s NMIMS, has been actively engaged in a variety of initiatives dedicated to social welfare and community development for the past decade. Kshamta successfully conducted the First Aid and CPR training session on 15th October, 2025. This event took place in the well-appointed and spacious Classroom 510 of SPPSPTM, organized in collaboration with the committed team from iCARE Revive Heart Foundation and Holy Spirit Hospital. The session fostered an enthusiastic environment, drawing a total of 100 participants, comprised of first and second-year students from the B. Pharm and Pharm. Tech. Program.
The session commenced with an inspiring introduction by the Executive Board of Kshamta, setting a tone of importance and urgency for the day’s learning. Following this, representatives from iCARE Revive Heart Foundation delivered a comprehensive presentation, emphasizing the life-saving significance of CPR during cardiac emergencies. They skilfully differentiated between cardiac arrest and heart attacks, providing clarity on these critical medical terms.
Participants were thoroughly engaged as they learned the crucial steps involved in performing CPR. They were instructed on recognizing the signs of cardiac arrest, the importance of contacting emergency medical services promptly, executing effective chest compressions, and the correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
To enhance understanding and retention, the session included dynamic live demonstrations alongside captivating video presentations. Attendees were encouraged to participate in hands-on practice, where they had the invaluable opportunity to perform CPR techniques on a realistic training dummy. This practical experience fostered an environment of learning and collaboration among peers. The event was inaugurated with lively energy, and Dr. Amisha Vora graciously presented a token of appreciation to the speakers, recognizing their expertise and dedication to educating others. The session concluded on a gracious note with a heartfelt vote of thanks articulated by Mr. Ritvi Kapasi.
Overall, the training was an exceptionally enriching experience, leaving participants with a wealth of practical knowledge in first aid and CPR. Each attendee left the session feeling more confident and better prepared to respond effectively in medical emergencies, equipped with skills that could make all the difference in a life-threatening situation.
