‘Encompassing Fun with Education creates the Best Educational experience possible.’
The organizing committee of Isthmus-Urjja 2019 teamed up with 2ndyear undergraduate students of SPPSPTM, SVKM’s NMIMS, to host the Fresher’s party for the newly inducted batch of students, on August 22, 2019. Everything, right from the ‘Red Carpet’ theme to the tasteful decor was extremely well-crafted and coordinated. The committee left no stone unturned to ensure that the event would be a successful venture in its entirety.
Post registrations, multiple piqued attendees made a beeline for the Photo-Booth, to avail of the opportunity to click pictures and share their expectations from the evening that had been outlined for them. As they filed into the auditorium, they were warmly greeted by the hosts for the evening, followed by a round of ice-breaker Games to lighten the atmosphere.
As the evening progressed, the Band got the crowd tapping their feet and singing along to a medley of songs, and the Stand-up Comeding act that followed shortly after, left them in splits.
This was proceeded by the initiation of a highly anticipated Screening process that would decide the two contenders who’d be crowned Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher by the end of the evening. The Talent round allowed them to showcase a myriad of talents, from singing, to dancing and stand-up acts. The highlight of the evening was the Antakshari round, wherein two teams comprising students and our beloved Faculty members put their musical skills and knowledge to the test. The organizing committee had also put together a dance routine, which was received with thunderous applause and cheering.
After several rounds curated to judge their personality and wit, Mr.
Raj Varshney and Ms. Karuna Sathe (students of 1st year B.Pharm + MBA, Pharma
Tech) were awarded the titles of Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher, respectively.
While all the attendees were dressed to the nines in their finest, Mr. Agrim
Juneja and Ms. Dhvani Patel (students of 1st year B.Pharm + MBA, Pharma Tech)
were crowned the Best-Dressed attendees of the party.
The dance floor was then thrown open to the attendees, and the evening concluded on an energetic note. The event was a whopping success, and the fond memories will surely remain etched in the minds of our Freshers.
