Isthmus Urjja is the corporate and cultural fest of Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, NMIMS, and it's now nearing the end of its 13th year. Isthmus, the corporate symposium, has always been an epitome of Industry-Academia interaction for students, and it aims to instil leadership, applicative, and presentation skills in students. Urjja, on the other hand, is an exciting take on Cultural events that teaches students the importance of self-expression and creativity. This year it was a virtual event conducted on 20th and 21st March 2021.
In the past couple of months, Isthmus Urjja has hosted and conducted various online events to foster the qualities of creativity and innovation in students. These include:
1.Digital Mayfair
Digital Mayfair was an entertaining and creative event by the Management Events department, where participants used their managerial skills to market and advertise a specific brand allotted on social media. It was conducted in two rounds from 21st- 27th January 2021
and 29th to the 31st of January 2021. The winners were:

2. Make it Wow (21st
October-14th November, 2020)
Organized by the Fine Arts department, Make it Wow highlighted the importance of 'regard before you discard' and gave students the opportunity to express their imagination and resourcefulness. Students were asked to utilize any inexpensive, readily available reusable material like cups, plates, old t-shirts, coconut shells, used plastic bottles, etc., to create an artistic artefact.
The artefacts were judged on the criteria of originality, technique and execution, affordability, productivity, the number of recyclable items used and aesthetic appeal. This event not only enhanced the student's creativity and presentation skills but also helped students realize the significance of recycling and reusing waste material to move one step further towards saving the environment. 3.Paint it Black (1st-15th of February, 2021)
Paint it Black , another event organized by the Fine Arts department which allowed the students to portray their creativity with only two colours- black and white. All the talented artists of SPPSPTM displayed a unique sense of imagination and individuality as they put their thoughts to paper with a brush. Students used their authenticity, technique, and precision to create unique masterpieces. The winners were:

4.Real Reel (3rd of January-15th of February 2021)
Real-Reel is a documentary/short-film-making event organized by the Literary Arts department of Isthmus-Urjja, where students had to convert their thoughts into a meaningful film. There were two possible themes that participants had to choose from. One was "Life in a Pandemic," where participants could gain inspiration from the happenings of 2020. The other theme was "Shoot your shot," where participants were free to express their artistic whims on any topic of their choice.

2nd place: Meher Kaur Duggal and Ritesh Dhavan from SPPSPTM, NMIMS & Mustafa Ameer Fazil from the National Academy of Sports Management.
1st place: S. Jeshurun Vineeth Roshan from the Loyola Institute of Business Administration (Chennai).
5.Wordsmith (21st of October-18th of November, 2020)
This event, presented by the Literary Arts Department, encouraged students to explore and showcase their creativity with words. It called upon aspiring poets, mysterious writers, and daydreamers to indulge in their senses and paint a picture with literature
The theme was "HALCYON – When times were idyllically happy and peaceful," The winners were:

6.You Know Who (28th of February, 2021)
You Know Who is an event was presented by the ‘Literary Arts Department’. It encompassed all areas of pop culture, books, music, famous personalities, and it was planned in such a way that every student could relate to the event. Multiple rounds were organized on platforms like Kahoot and Zoom which tested the participants knowledge in various genres like books, music, general knowledge and movies. The winners were:

7.Poster Presentation (7th of March, 2021)
Poster Presentation was the much-awaited national-level competition that is organized by the Technical Arts department of Isthmus Urjja. It was conducted in two rounds, the first being an Abstract submission. Students from all over India submitted their abstracts. After careful evaluation, only 12 teams were selected to present their poster in the second round.
The judges for this event were Dr. Tabassum Khan and Ms. Anshul Garg.
A range of innovative and creative posters left the judges elated and filled with amazement. The winners were:

8.Mind Matrix (18th January 2021- 5th February 2021)
Mind Matrix was an event organized by the ‘Technical Arts Department’ which encouraged the participants to be alert, analytical, and good critical thinkers. It was based on logical reasoning and puzzle solving. This event consisted of 3 rounds.

9.Fast and Furious (22nd January 2021- 1st February 2021)
The Technical Arts department of Isthmus Urjja gave us a challenge, a platform to combat both knowledge and logical reasoning on the most talked about topic of 2021 - Pharmacy. Based on the points the teams had accumulated in the previous rounds, they were given a list of ingredients and procedures for a particular unknown formulation. With their knowledge of the subject put to the test, they had to guess the formulation. The winners were:

10. Absolute Pharmaceutical Intellect (11th November, 2020- 13th February, 2021)
The Absolute Pharmaceutical Intellect is a National level pharmacy event organized by the Pharm-Quiz department, exclusively for 3rd year and 4th year Pharmacy students, to test their academic knowledge. This event was spread out over a series of 3 rounds which took place separately.

11. Raise the Mic
Raise the Mic was an event presented by the Performing Arts Department, which presented a platform for our talented students to express their emotions with a song.
The final round was conducted on the 2nd day of Isthmus Urjja. The judge for this event was Mr. Ojas Bhatt and he was stunned by the melodious voices. The winners were:

12.Crescendo
Crescendo was a brand
new event organised by the Performing Arts department which allowed
instrumentalists and musicians to wow the audience with their talent.
The final round was conducted on the morning of the 2nd day of
Isthmus Urjja. The judge, Mr. Ojas Bhatt, was taken aback with each
participants tunes and tones that they brought out on their instrument. The winners were:

13. Footloose
Footloose was an event by the Performing Arts department for students to move and dance gracefully to the rhythm and beat. There were two categories, Solo and Group, and received entries from all over India.
The final round was conducted on the 1st day of Isthmus Urjja in the afternoon. Ms Krupa Vyas was he judge for the event.

14. Panache
Panache was originally a fashion show organized by the Performing Arts department. This year due to the Pandemic, participants were asked to dress up and create an outfit that reciprocated a famous character related to web series or movies. The judge for this event was Ms Unnati Dhariwal.

15. Act Attack
Act Attack was an event organized by the Performing Arts department where participants express their emotions and share a story in the form of actions and gestures. Participants from all over the country were asked to perform. They were also allotted a specific prop such as handbags, shoes, pens, etc. The judge for this event was Mr. Kaustav Sinha.

16. Challenge Accepted
Challenge Accepted was a brand-new event organized by the Performing Arts department where participants created trendy Instagram reels (15-30sec videos) based on a specific social media challenge. Participants from all over the country sent in their entries. The judge for this event was Ms Krisha Jain.

17. Wolf of Wall Street (15thFebruary 2021- 20th March, 2021.)
The Wolf of Wall Street was an event organised by the Management events department to educate our peers on the importance of managing money. The three teams that qualified for final round presented in front of virtual audience on the main day of Isthmus Urjja, 2021. They were further scrutinized over a Q&A round by the judge Mr Rajesh Hedaoo.

Inquizitives was a National level pharmacy event organized by the Pharm-Quiz department, exclusively for 1st and 2nd year Pharmacy students, to test their academic knowledge. This event was spread out over a series of 3 rounds which took place separately.
The final round was a virtual event that took place on the main Isthmus Urjja day. The winners were:

19. Controvolting (2nd November, 202021st of March, 2021)
Controvolting was the
National level debate competition organised by the Literary Arts department.
This event provided the perfect platform for participants to put forth their
argumentative skills for opposing viewpoints.
The final round was a virtual round conducted on the main days of Isthmus
Urjja. The topic for the debate was ‘The house believed that Clinical trials in
developing countries are exploitative.’ An intense and heated debate full of
statistics and facts left the audience stunned. The judge, Dr. Khushbu Trehan,
after the Q&A, addressed a couple of key points on the art of debating. The
