Event: Isthmus (Corporate Fest)
Date: 27th February 2018
Venue: Mukesh Patel Auditorium, Vile Parle (West)
Time: 8:30 AM onwards
The registrations began without any delay and our students were seen in formal attire as they walked with confidence and in high spirits. The introduction of Isthmus was followed by the lighting of the lamps and an inaugural dance put up by our students.
We then had our motivational speaker, Mr. Munaf Kapadia (Entrepreneur, The Bohri Kitchen) enlighten our audience as he shared his personal experiences with us. This was followed by our National Level Quiz Competition called API (Absolute Pharmaceutical Intellect) wherein students competed with each other as they were brainstormed with academic knowledge-testing questions. The winning team was declared to be from SPPSPTM.
The audience was then spell-bound by yet another inspiring talk given by our Technical Speaker, Mr.Sanjeev Dharwadkar (Senior Director-External Manufacturing Global Established products & Gx responsible for India, South East Asia,Japan and Australia, Sanofi). The next event was TUC (The Ultimate Capitalist), our Management-based event where we had teams coming in and executing their strategic plans as they tried to prove how practical their products were. The students came up with brilliant ideas and our audience was awe-struck.
At around 12.30 noon, everyone took a lunch break and were offered meals and refreshments. They resumed the spectating the event at 1:30 pm. What followed later, was the Panel Discussion with the topic as: ‘Block Chain in the Healthcare Industry’. The panelists comprised of Dr. Paritosh Basu (Senior Professor (Finance) Chairperson MBA (Law), SBM NMIMS), Mr. Suresh Chettiar (Vice President (Finance), Lupin) Mr. Sameer Gupta (Executive, CitiBank) and Mrs. Deepali Rajurkar (Entrepreneur, Equilateral Services). The session was moderated by our faculty, Mr. Haresh Raulgaonkar. Our panelists made the discussion lively, thereby gaining an intriguing reaction from the audience present. Later, we had our second motivational speaker for the evening, Mr. Anil Thomas, who engaged the audience in an interactive session and stole the limelight.
The National Level Debate Competition titled Controvolting took place immediately after this. The topic for the Debate was: "The House Believes That Human Cloning is Justified”. The debate had the audience engrossed, with a number of questions that the viewers had for our debaters. This teased our teams’ gray cells.
After the debate, we had our most-awaited Prize Distribution ceremony wherein we appreciated and awarded our students’ outstanding participation in all our events. Each and every winner had huge smiles plastered onto their faces as they posed for pictures. The 4th Year MBA batch bagged the Best Class Trophy.
This wouldn’t have been possible without the help and support of our Dean, Dr. Bala Prabhakar, our Associate Dean, Dr. Mayur Yergeri, our Extra-Curricular Committee Heads, Dr. Archana Upadhya and Dr. Vivek Nalawade. Overall, the event was a huge success and majorly brought out the best in each of our students, here at SPPSPTM. It was then time to bid adieu to yet another triumphant year of Isthmus-Urjja, IU 2018.
The IU committee generated sponsorship worth 4.6 Lakh for the conduct of this event and the SVKM’s NMIMS University also supported this event.
The student committee would like to thank each and every individual involved in making this event an unforgettable one!
