KARTAVYA 2019

Kshamta, the Social Responsibility Forum of Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPPSPTM), SVKM’S NMIMS, Mumbai is an ensemble of people striving to create a positive impact in the society. In today’s technology driven life, the youth have lost the essence of human touch and there is a dire need for them to connect back to their roots.

Kartavya is a new and unique initiative of Team Kshamta, wherein the team members visited Little Sisters of The Poor - Home for the Aged (Opposite Canossa Convent Primary School, Prem Vasundara Society, Mahakali Caves Road, Andheri east, Mumbai - 400093) on October 6, 2019 from 10.00 to 11.30 am and spent quality time with the inmates. The event started off with a fun game of housie conducted by Team members which was thoroughly enjoyed by elderly inmates. Chocolates, roses and toiletries were given as gifts to each and every inmate. The housie game was followed by a round of question and answers, wherein a bowl of chits containing questions were circulated enabling the elderly members share their memories and experiences with us. This was followed by a musical performance by our members. Retro songs were played to reminisce the good old days. Finally, the event ended with a vote of thanks from one of the members of the old age home and a few words by Dr Divya Suares. The support of our teachers Dr Divya Suares and Dr Amisha Vora throughout the event was very encouraging.

Team Kshamta is truly indebted to the unending support of Dr Bala Prabhakar (Dean, SPPSPTM), Dr Surendra Agarwal, Dr Divya Suares and Dr Khushwant Yadav (Extracurricular Faculty in-charge) and the University in all our endeavors. The event wouldn’t be possible without the contribution of each member of the Team.
