SPPSPTM, SVKM’SNMIMS was nominated as State coordinator for the state round of national elocution competition 2019 in Maharashtra state. Eight teams were fetched from different colleges of Maharashtra after continuous reminders and follow–up. The eight teams from different colleges like SPPSPTM, Mumbai; SPTM, Shirpur; BharatiVidyapeeth’s College of Pharmacy, Belapur; Allana college of Pharmacy, Pune; Ideal College of Pharmacy, Kalyan; KGRDC’S College of Pharmacy, Karjat; Bombay College of Pharmacy, Mumbai presented themselves in front of three jury (Dr.AlkaMukne, Dr.RajaniAthawale, Dr.Sujit Nair) from different institutions of Mumbai other than host institute.
The participants were judged based on Introduction of topic(Greeting, Opening), Knowledge of topic(portraying of subject, Uniqueness and novelty in subject, Relevance in the current world & Message to the audience, Interpretation), Presentation of topic (Body Language, Voice quality &Delivery, Eye contact and Conclusion (Effective summarizing / punch, Meeting the time limits).
Ms. Fatimah Mujawar, the participant from AllanaCollege of Pharmacy, Pune bagged the first prize wherein Ms. Pooja Kulkarni from SPTM, Shirpur received runner-up title. The winner and runner-up of the competition were awarded with a cash prize of INR 1000 and 750 respectively along-with a certificate. All participants received a certificate of participation and travelling allowance.
At the end, all Jury and Dr.BalaPrabhakar, Coordinator for Maharashtra State Round of NEC 2019, had an interaction with all participants for critical comments to help them realize the mistakes and loopholes for self-improvement.
The event was appreciated by the participants and Jury members.
