World Pharmacist’s Day was celebrated at Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, SVKM’s NMIMS.
The programme was organized and conducted by the Extracurricular Committee of the School in co-ordination with the students of the Isthmus Urjja wing.

This year’s theme of "Pharmacists: Your partners in health”.
This programme was graced by the presence of three eminent speakers, namely Dr. Krishna Iyer, Mr. Kapil Bhargava, and Mr. Janardhan Ayoor. All three of them are prominent pharmacists with Dr. Iyer, Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Bombay College of Pharmacy, Mr. Ayoor, Pharmaceutical Technical Lead for the APAC region, Zoetis India Ltd. and Mr. Bhargava retired Dy. Drugs Controller (India) CDSCO, each of them having their own great accomplishments.
Around 100 students including the first year students of the B.Pharm+MBA (Pharma Tech.), B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Faculty members and the Extracurricular committee volunteers were present in this extremely knowledge enriching programme.
The programme inaugurated by our respected Dean , Dr. Bala Prabhakar. She led the pharmacists present in the auditorium in taking the Pharmacists’ Oath. This was followed by the esteemed speakers sharing with us some of their views on the theme of the day. Dr. Krishna Iyer spoke about antibiotics, its history and current scenario. Mr. Bhargava spoke about basics of drug regulations and its importance. Mr. Ayoor spoke about the history of pharmacy, pharmaceutical industry, its development and how pharmacists are ones’ partners in health. Prof. Addepalli, Associate Dean, proposed the vote of thanks.
Mementoes and bouquets were given to the each of guest speakers. The programme was hosted by 2nd year MBA (Pharma Tech.) student Ms. Ridham Pathak. The event was overall co-ordinated by Faculty members, Dr. Preeti Sangave and Dr. Clara Fernandes. The event was followed by high tea.
This extremely enlightening programme received great feedback from the students and faculty of SPPSPTM as well as from the guest speakers.
