The fifth season of sports trivia quiz ‘Quizcalibur 2019 - The ultimate sports quiz’ was organised by Excalibur, the sports committee of SPPSPTM, SVKM’s NMIMS, Mumbai on 3rd August, 2019.
This year the event witnessed an enthusiastic participation from all SVKM colleges in and around Vile Parle with a footfall of 65 teams consisting of 2 participants in each team.
The first round of the event 'MCQs' consisted of multiple choice questions on Sports, to be solved in 10 minutes. The qualifiers made it to the second round 'Crossword' followed by an 'Audio Visual' round and then the 'Kim Pong Un' round. This game was derived from a ping pong game, wherein the participants threw the ping pong ball in an arranged set of cups and answered the questions placed in the cup.
The participants in an air of silence, saw, heard and
finally, 5 teams conquered their way to the final round ‘The Rapid fire’. This
was a quick round wherein participants raised their respective placards to
answer questions from the Quizmaster. Each team gave their best shot and the
top three high scorers triumphed, owing to their sharpness, alertness and
intellect in the field of sports.
At the first position, were Mr. Chintan and Mr. Debashish followed by Mr. Nikhil and Mr. Varun in the second position and finally Mr. Arnav and Mr. Aditya bagging the third position. The winners were felicitated with vouchers and cash prize of Rs. 5000/-, Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 2000/- for the first, second and third place, respectively.
Quizcalibur 2019 was presented by Pincode, powered by Bombay
Brownies and Churrolls & co. This event was in association with Clothing
partner 'The Souled Store', design partner 'Bombay Ink', food partner 'KFC’,
The Bombay Churros, Smoking Joes, 3 Star pizza and beverage partner 'Chaayos'.
Due to their immense support, the organizers were able to achieve great success
this year.
Concluding on a high note, Quizcalibur brought a day of intense quizzing, soaring adrenaline and loads of fun.
