6.    Description

The Literary Arts Department of NMIMS organized an exciting and interactive pop-culture-themed quiz titled "You Know Who?”, celebrating iconic elements from Bollywood and Hollywood cinema, music, and television. The event aimed to give students a refreshing break from academics while enhancing critical thinking, observation, and communication skills.

The event began with an enthusiastic first round consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 10 minutes. Questions were fun, nostalgic, and highly engaging—ranging from classic Bollywood dialogues to Hollywood trivia such as "Who played Rancho in 3 Idiots?” or "What is the name of Elle Woods’ dog in Legally Blonde?”. With no negative marking, participants confidently attempted all questions in an atmosphere filled with laughter and excitement.

After the elimination round, selected participants were divided into groups based on their academic year. The second round added a visual and dramatic twist with stills and images from movies and TV shows. Teams identified dialogues or described scenes projected on the screen, earning 3 points for completely correct answers and 2 points for minor errors. The classroom came alive with energetic guessing, lively debates, and cheerful audience reactions.

The final round, based on the theme "Bollywood Controversies”, challenged participants with thought-provoking questions about major controversies and behind-the-scenes events. This round demanded contextual understanding and quick recall, pushing teams to think critically about the influence of media and pop culture. Despite its difficulty, the round maintained high energy and engagement, concluding with smiles, applause, and light-hearted banter.

The Creatives Team of the Literary Arts Department curated vibrant and stylish décor aligned with the pop culture theme—featuring posters of iconic characters, witty dialogue cutouts, and eye-catching backdrops. Their efforts transformed the classroom into a cinematic zone, elevating the atmosphere and enhancing participant engagement.

The event concluded with heartfelt appreciation from participants, who expressed that the quiz was refreshing, entertaining, and intellectually stimulating. The seamless coordination of organizers, volunteers, and students ensured a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.
